Fascinating review. I’ve got them and am deciding whether or not to send them back – they are so incredibly comfortable, but I can’t shake the feeling that the multiple layers between my foot and the leather means I’m going to lose some of the sharpness in the touch. It feels almost pillow like from the outside, hardly even feeling my toes through the upper. The same also applies to the instep, with the quadfit mesh AND the flyknit tunnel feeling, again, incredibly comfortable but ultimately like potentially too much cushioning in an area where I’m going to be making a lot of contact with the ball. Does this disappear with use? Is it actually noticeable at all so all you get is the comfort? Am I just being crazy? I think you’re right in not judging this as a leather boot, but if not, how SHOULD it be judged? It’s Nike’s flagship leather boot line, after all.

I’m glad you liked the review! The unique cushioned sensation doesn’t disappear though with extended use, quadfit mesh and flyknit do soften up and you will get a slightly closer feel of the ball. I don’t have a problem with the touch but if you’d like a leather boot with a much thinner and barefoot feel than the Tiempo Legend 8, then you might wanna look for other options like the Puma One and the Mizuno Morelia Neo 3. We’ve got some great deals for them listed on our deals page. 🙂

How should it be judged? I think it should be judged as Nike’s best knitted innovation as they were able to blend lockdown, fit and comfort perfectly.
